FAQ

Will my existing Season Pass still work for the Whistler Mountain Bike Park?

Yes. We are encouraging guests to take advantage of the benefits of RFID technology, but your existing Season Pass with a barcode will still scan at the lifts. Barcode scanners will be installed at both base area locations to allow for you to scan your Pass before boarding. Simply insert your pass into the scanner and wait for the gate to open.

Where do I keep my card?

All of our RFID scanners will be located on your left hand side as you approach the lift. It is important that you keep your Access Card on the left hand side of your body.

What is RFID and how does it work?

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification Device. The ‘device’ is a small circuit that is integrated into your Access Card, which contains information pertaining to your lift ticket, Season Pass, or Card product. When you approach the access gate, the circuit in your card will register and open the gate automatically. No more fumbling with your Pass or Card!

Can I punch a hole in my RFID Access Card?

No. You must never punch a hole in your Access Card. The card has an antenna embedded that surrounds the RFID chip. Any damage to the surrounding antenna will render the card inactive and must be replaced ($5 Replacement Fee applies for damaged RFID Access cards).
