WHISTLER DEVELOPMENT TEAM

DH RACE PROGRAM
The Whistler Development Team is for expert riders who want to take an athlete-focused approach to racing and further PROGRESS their downhill biking skills. Our top coaches will guide athletes through a structured PROGRAM to develop athletes to be all-round better riders. This long-term athlete development curriculum was built by Joel Harwood and was further refined through collaboration with world cup DH and X-Games winner Andrew Shandro. Groups will work on all the skills needed to become a top DH racer; including high-end cornering, jumping, decision making and tactics, bike setup, sport psychology and course analysis.

Sessions will also include timing, video/photo analysis, goal setting, races (Phat Wednesdays and Crankworx events) and dryland conditioning. Guest coaches, currently performing at the highest level will be brought in for the riders to gain firsthand knowledge of their world cup race experience and from riding with a variety of athletes. Coaches include Joel Harwood, Lee Jackson, Zander Geddes, Luke Irving and Jaime Hill. Guest coaches include Andrew Shandro and Remi Gauvin.

Groups will be developed with age, ability and previous racing experience in mind.
